Working together to support your child's success

1

Referral

A parent, teacher, or other professional requests an evaluation if a student is suspected of having a disability that impacts learning.

2

Evaluation

With parental consent, a comprehensive evaluation is conducted by qualified professionals to determine if the student has a disability and needs special education services.

3

Eligibility Determination

The IEP team, including parents, reviews evaluation results to determine if the student qualifies for special education services under IDEA.

4

IEP Development

If eligible, the team develops an Individualized Education Program with goals, services, accommodations, and placement decisions.

5

Implementation

With parental consent, the IEP is implemented. Teachers and service providers work to help the student achieve their goals.

6

Annual Review

The IEP team meets at least annually to review progress, update goals, and make any necessary changes to the program.
